  • Special MCOCA court convicts 12 out of the 13 accused in 7/11 Mumbai blasts. 5 of them have been awarded death sentence with life imprisonment to remaining 7 accused.
  • India has surpassed China and USA in attracting the highest FDI inflows in the first half of 2015. With $31 billion of foreign capital inflows till now, India is ahead by $ 3-4 Billion from both the countries. 
  • In a significant development, Russia has launched first series of air strikes in war-torn Syria on Wednesday. Moscow is a supporter of Bahser-al-Asad and is allegedly bombing the ISIS territories but United States believes that the targets may have been the non ISIS Syrian rebels. 
  • The lynching of a 50-year-old man by a mob (which accused his family of consuming beef in a Dadri village near Noida) has sparked outrage. Opposition parties are alleging that such incidents are a result of the climate of hate propagated under BJP to polarize people.
  • Pakistan has raised the issue of Kashmir yet again in UN General Assembly speech. He proposed restraint between the two countries and formalization of the 2003 border ceasefire as part of the formula to ensure peaceful ties between the two nuclear armed neighbors.

  • NASA finds signs of liquid water on Mars. Great opportunities are being seen in finding more about the possible life present on the red planet in light of such a great discovery.
  •  RBI has cut its policy interest rate to a 4-1/2 year low of 6.75 percent on Tuesday. In a bigger-than-expected move this (with inflation running at record lows) could help turn around an economy that has been slowing down.
  • Russia is reportedly preparing to conduct airstrikes in Syria. As per US officials, the on-ground movements indicate that the primary target may not be ISIS. 
  •  On Tuesday, Supreme Court declined a plea by the BCCI seeking recall of its order barring the cricketing body's former president N.Srinivasan from contesting its election as long as he was in a situation of conflict of interest situation.
  • ISRO has crossed yet another milestone by conducting 51 international customer satellite launches successfully till now. On Monday, ISRO had launched ASTROSTAT which is India’s first Multi Wavelength Space Observatory.
  • Alibaba's latest investment in Paytm has sparked a series of questions due to conflict of interest. Recently, this Chinese e-commerce firm had picked up stake in paytm's direct rival Snapdeal. Paytm will use the fresh capital to invest in marketing, technology and talent.
  •  India A has beaten South Africa by 8 wickets in a practice match played at New Delhi on 29th Sep.
  •  Air India announced the launch of a non-stop flight to San Francisco fulfilling a long-pending demand of Indian IT professionals. This will be effective from 2nd December 2015 onward.
