- Security of underworld don and India's most wanted terrorist Dawood Ibrahim has been enhanced in Pakistan after the arrest of his bete noire Chhota Rajan in Indonesia. Special commandos of the Pakistan Army have been deployed at Dawood's residences in Karachi and Islamabad where he has been living for more than two decades after the 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai, sources said quoting intelligence reports.
- The Uber cab driver, who was held guilty of raping a woman passenger in his taxi and trying to strangulate her while committing the act last year, is likely to be sentenced tomorrow by a Delhi court. Additional Sessions Judge Kaveri Baweja, who had convicted 32-year-old Shiv Kumar Yadav, is scheduled to hear arguments on quantum of sentence and pronounce the order tomorrow.
- Maneka Gandhi today expressed helplessness in extending punishment to the juvenile convict of Dec-16 gang rape case. She stressed on the need to keep a "close watch" on him following his impending release. The parents of the 2012 December 16 gangrape victim on Monday expressed their exasperation with the legal system and wondered whether he has undergone any reform.
