- A Jawan was killed on Wednesday in a gun-battle with militants as the army foiled an infiltration bid along the LOC in Poonch district of J&K. Lance Naik Govind Singh was injured in the firing and died while being rushed to hospital.
- Former Pakistan foreign minister Khurshid Kasuri has tried to put the blame of failed talks between India and Pakistan, in Agra in 2001, on the then home minister Lal Krishna Advani. According to him, Pakistan had provided India with addresses of terrorist camps operating in Kashmir as part of its deal to bring peace to the Valley. However, Advani's demand to hand over terrorist Dawood Ibrahim derailed the talks.
- Villagers in Khurd Jawahar in Faridkot blocked traffic in Kotakpura on Monday evening after finding four torn pages of Guru Granth Sahib in the village. Anger spilled over to neighboring Moga on Tuesday where Sikh protesters clashed with police who tried to disperse them.
